Change the name of your router

Changing the name, or Service Set Identifier (SSID), of your wireless network router will make it tougher for cyber criminals to identify what type of router you own and take advantage of current vulnerabilities. In fact, a good security practice is to turn off the broadcast function of your router's SSID in order to hide your network. Refer to your owner’s manual or check the manufacturer’s website to learn how to change the name of your router and/or turn off broadcasting.
