Microsoft released the August 2017 Patch Tuesday security updates containing fixes for 48 vulnerabilities in numerous products including Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft SharePoint, and Microsoft SQL Server. Successful exploitation of these vulnerabilities could allow a threat actor to remotely execute code, corrupt memory, create a denial-of-service condition, escalate privileges, or disclose information. The NJCCIC recommends Microsoft users and administrators review Microsoft’s August 2017 Security Update Guide and apply the necessary updates as soon as possible, after appropriate testing.
